Lawrence Hospital Center Joins Spirit of Women

Bronxville, NY – Lawrence Hospital Center today announces it has joined Spirit of Women, an integrated partnership of hospitals and healthcare systems across the country that aim to drive health action for women and their families. Spirit of Women enables Lawrence Hospital Center to continue to focus on the specific needs of the local community while drawing on the strength and support of a national network.

Bronxville, NY - October 18, 2012 – Lawrence Hospital Center today announces it has joined Spirit of Women, an integrated partnership of hospitals and healthcare systems across the country that aim to drive health action for women and their families. Spirit of Women enables Lawrence Hospital Center to continue to focus on the specific needs of the local community while drawing on the strength and support of a national network.

“The Spirit of Women program helps Lawrence Hospital Center reach women and engage them in the proactive pursuit of vibrancy and good health for themselves and their families,” states Tracy Conte, Vice President for Marketing & Development at Lawrence Hospital Center. “We are excited about this initiative and how it extends our outreach to women.”

To launch the new program and commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lawrence is sponsoring a Girls Night Out kick-off event called “Martinis and Chocolate” at 6:30pm on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Bronxville Women’s Club located at 135 Midland Avenue. The special event will feature the hospital’s Breast Cancer Care Team; shopping; desserts and drink; raffles and live music provided by Lawrence’s Chief of Plastic Surgery, Rick Garvey, MD and his band of doctors called “The Scrubs”. Through Spirit of Women, Lawrence Hospital Center plans to conduct a wide variety of events including educational and recreational activities, health screenings, workshops, mentoring opportunities and support groups that will reach women in all stages of their lives. Additionally, the annual Spirit of Women Awards program will offer the opportunity to recognize residents who exemplify Spirit in their community by balancing life’s many demands, while still finding time to make a difference in the lives of others.
