Emergency Department

Do you have an emergency?

Call 911 immediately to connect to police, paramedics,
fire department, and other emergency crews.

When you require immediate care due to injury or illness, Lawrence Hospital Center (LHC) has a specially-trained Emergency Medicine team waiting to provide you with the utmost in emergency health care. Our board-certified Emergency Medicine physicians work solely in the Emergency Department (ED) at Lawrence, providing a wealth of experience and quick, effective, and compassionate treatment of injuries and illnesses. These include broken bones, lacerations, heart attacks, and strokes.

Additionally, all of our ED physicians are trained in Pediatric Emergency care, and we make the extra commitment to children and their parents by offering a pediatrician onsite in the Emergency Department during the busiest times of the day and on weekends. We also offer specially-designed equipment uniquely suited for addressing the needs of young patients.

In 2006, Lawrence Hospital Center passed a rigorous set of standards to qualify as a New York State Department of Health designated Stroke Center. As a New York State-sanctioned Stroke Center, Lawrence has a highly skilled and dedicated stroke team on standby around the clock, ready to immediately treat any stroke patient who comes through our doors.

As part of our ongoing effort to provide you with the best service and facilities available, Lawrence Hospital Center’s Emergency Department was recently expanded and renovated. Three triage rooms, a Prompt Care facility, an Admissions Unit, and a new Waiting and Reception area featuring a large saltwater aquarium are among the additions. Future construction will include a new entrance and canopy to improve and expedite traffic flow. Free information tours of our facility are available by calling
