The Center for Maternal Child Health

We work collaboratively with your primary obstetrician to provide the highest quality care for women who are pregnant or are planning to have a baby. We specialize in providing care during pregnancy and the preconception period to those women who are at risk for pregnancy complications base on their health history or who are experiencing problems in a current pregnancy.

What Does Our Program Offer You?

We will work together with your obstetrician to achieve a healthy outcome for both you and your baby. As a team, we will ensure you receive the best prenatal care possible. this includes an in-depth assessment of the mother and advanced ultrasound evaluation of your developing baby. We will work to make an accurate assessment and provide recommendations to your physician for the optimal management of your pregnancy.

Who Should See a High-Risk Obstetrician?

You and your obstetrician may want to consider seeing a high-risk obstetrician if you are at risk for having complications in your pregnancy. This includes women who have medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disease, epilepsy or autoimmune illnesses prior to pregnancy or diagnosed in pregnancy. Any woman with a history of recurrent miscarriage, preterm delivery, cervical incompetence, stillbirth or hemorrhage should have a consultation with a high-risk specialist.

Pregnancies complicated by advanced maternal age (above 35 years), fetal anomalies, abnormal fetal growth or amniotic fluid volume, placenta problems or twin gestation should be evaluated by a high-risk specialist who can provide detailed ultrasound evaluation and consultation for pregnancy management.
