Hole in One at Lawrence Hospital Center Golf Outing!
Bronxville, NY (June 5, 2007) - History was made at Lawrence Hospital Center's Golf Tournament sponsored by the Generoso Pope Foundation. That is because one of the golfers at the 7th annual fundraiser hit a hole in one at the Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale. Barry Brokaw of Bronxville was the man of the hour when he made the amazing shot on the 9th green. "I never saw it go in the hole. But, then I heard the shouts and saw people running and thought – wow, it went in!"
For his feat, Brokaw won a brand new Mercedes-Benz 350 SLK donated by the Pepe Family of Mercedes-Benz of White Plains. In addition to Brokaw, more than 100 golfers hit the links on that sunny Monday afternoon in May. Besides golf, the Lawrence charity event featured a catered lunch and dinner; Live Auction and Raffle.
The golf outing raised 200-thousand dollars for the hospital. Thanks in part to the efforts of the event chair, Greg Richter and co-chair, Ken Hanau, both of Bronxville for a job well done!
