Lawrence Hospital Center Helps Bronxville School
Bronxville, NY (May 1, 2007) – As the Bronxville School reopened its doors this week to begin classes again after the flood clean-up, its Nurse's office is also ready for students who may need a little "t-l-c". Thanks to the staff at nearby Lawrence Hospital Center, the Nurse's office, which was destroyed by flood waters, was able to restock its shelves after losing everything. "The outpouring of support from Lawrence was amazing. We provide services to more than 1,500 students in grades K thru 12. Lucky for us, the hospital offered to help allowing us to care for any student who might come through our doors," states Kathleen Sosa, Head Nurse.
Sosa says that five feet of flood water destroyed all of their supplies including instruments; beds; medications and health records. She says Lawrence gave the school some desperately needed items including bandages; gauze; tape; Calamine lotion; Neosporin ointment; gloves; two stethoscopes; a blood pressure machine and wheelchair. "We are a part of this community and at times like this, we all pitch in to help one another", says Edward M. Dinan, President and CEO of Lawrence Hospital Center.
Lawrence Hospital Center is a 291 bed community hospital and is the second largest of the six acute care medical facilities in southern Westchester County.
