New Maternity Center

When we designed our new private maternity rooms with relaxing colors, soft lighting and carpeted floors, we had something very important in mind - you and your baby.

Our goal is to make your family as comfortable and relaxed as possible during those first precious hours.  In fact, everything about the new Maternity Center at Lawrence Hospital has been designed to enhance your birthing experience. 

The state-of-the-art space features 23 private rooms each with their own bathroom and shower.   Plus, the Maternity Center is designed to resemble a home away from home for families.  The rooms have flat screen TVs, all new furnishings (including a special fold-out chair for dad) and access to the Internet.  The Maternity Center also includes a spacious high-tech Nursery.  A Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery, for babies with special needs or who are premature, will remain on the 4th floor of the hospital.  It is staffed by neonatologists from New York Presbyterian/Cornell Weill so babies receive the same expert care that is provided in city hospitals.
